Hello Everyone and I wish you a prosperous and healthy 2016!

There are times when I must breakaway from classical portraiture and just play so here are a few pictures done completely freestyle from my imagination. The practice is perfect for experimenting with new techniques and ideas.

2015 Santa Fe Artists Relief Fundraiser Event

Hello Everyone,

This is a very late post, but nonetheless wanted to share a few pics from the annual Santa Fe Relief Fund Art Auction, held at Blue Rain Gallery.  I donated this piece (below), “Angel of Faith” to this EXCITING and WORTHY event and was glad to do it!

The gallery was filled to the brim with artists, patrons, friends, and families viewing and bidding on over one hundred pieces of art, no larger than 6 x 6 inches.

Santa Fe Farmer’s Market Sunflowers

The Santa Fe Farmer’s Market is held at the train depot. Parking is ample and the market is so clean and colorful. Vendors offer up fresh breakfasts and pastries – we enjoy a delectable breakfast and coffee before shopping.

I love sunflowers!  Can’t always get there early enough to buy them before they are sold out.  I was lucky this Saturday morning to find this bunch, each with a different colored center!

“Yellow Roses”, 14 x 18″, oil

Every year for my birthday, my father and his wife send me beautiful flowers and this year was no exception. I had to scale down the composition quite a bit since I was painting quickly, alla prima.  What joy to paint flowers!

Small Floral Paintings

These two paintings are only 5×5 inches square. My husband gave me a beautiful vase of white lilies so I couldn’t pass on the opportunity to capture one. They were huge. AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE, $200 framed each. Email Kathy at kathy@maniscalcofineart.com if you are interested in purchasing.
